Stornoway Singers
Stornoway Singers origins go back to the early 1980's when a group of half a dozen enthusiastic choristers met in the flat of music teacher Douglas Leadbitter to sing madrigals, motets and anthems purely for their own pleasure
Stornoway Singers are now performing in front of sell out crowds throughout the Isle of Lewis and Harris. Sadly Douglas has retired but has been replaced by the extremely talented Catherine Fish.
The works performed by Stornoway Singers have included an opera and some great oratorios:

Purcell: Dido & Aeneas

Handel: Messiah

Mozart: Requiem

Faure: Requiem

Brahms: Requiem

Montiverdi: Beatus Vir

Vivaldi: Gloria

...as well as smaller works by composers including Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Brahms, Purcell, Schubert, Rutter, Holst, Tippett, Gershwin, Porter and others. They have sung music from the whole choral repertoire: opera, sacred, part songs, folk songs, madrigals and carols
